METRAVON MV-WA0006 is a plastic load cell junction box with excitation adjustment. The enclosure is 170 x 80 x 33 mm. Select it for a compatible analogue weighing circuit that uses excitation trim; do not treat it as the same circuit in a different housing from a signal-trim box.
How excitation trim affects replacement selection
Excitation adjustment changes the electrical excitation applied to an individual load-cell branch. This affects that branch's contribution to the summed weight signal. The cell resistance, excitation supply and sense connections must be reviewed together, particularly when replacing only the junction box in an existing installation.
If the old installation uses signal trim, compare its wiring with the proposed circuit before ordering. MV-WA0003 is the stainless steel signal-trim model, with a different 153 x 112 x 36 mm enclosure. Neither adjustment method should be substituted without checking the indicator and sensor connections.

Allow room for the lid and cable entries
The overall size is useful for checking the installation envelope, but it does not give the fixing-hole pattern. Leave access for terminal inspection and lid removal, and confirm the glands against the actual cable diameters. A gland that does not grip and seal the cable correctly can compromise strain relief and environmental protection.

No specific plastic grade, ingress rating, chemical resistance or operating-temperature limit is stated here. For outdoor equipment or a cleaning area, specify those conditions and obtain confirmation for the complete box and entry assembly. Adding a cover alone is not evidence of a particular protection rating.
Information needed to check an existing installation
- Sensor count, model and input resistance, plus the indicator model and excitation specification.
- Terminal labels and the present excitation, signal, sense and shield connections.
- Photographs of the enclosure mounting, available service space and incoming cables.
- Reason for replacement: damaged enclosure, water ingress, unstable readings or a change in scale layout.
Once the circuit is confirmed and connected, verify the response at the scale's specified loading positions before making a trim adjustment. Recheck zero and span afterwards. Use the junction-box commissioning guide to prepare the checks; the exact terminal and adjustment instructions must match the supplied box.
Replacement questions
Q1. Will excitation trim correct a tank touching a pipe support?
No. An external contact changes the mechanical load path. Correct that constraint first, then assess the electrical response. Adjusting the circuit around a mechanical fault can leave the readings wrong when the tank moves or its load changes.
Q2. Does a plastic enclosure determine where the shield should be connected?
No. Shield termination follows the sensor, indicator and installation bonding design. Do not invent a connection simply because the enclosure is non-metallic. Include the shield route in the wiring review and keep it distinct from protective-earth requirements.
Request an MV-WA0006 quotation with the circuit information above and the installation environment. Ask for the mounting drawing and terminal arrangement so that mechanical fit and electrical compatibility can be checked before the order is released.
