Confirm what the indicator sends
A remote display shows data from a compatible instrument; it does not replace the load-cell measurement electronics. Supply the indicator model, output specification and a sample transmission where available. The connection review needs the electrical interface, data format, units and decimal placement, not just a connector photograph.
Do not infer RS485, Modbus RTU or a particular serial format from the product name. Agree the interface and settings for the supplied pair, together with the cable route and distance. Q1. How should the remote indication be tested at commissioning?
Compare it with the main instrument across the intended operating range, including decimal position, sign and displayed unit where supported. Check how it behaves when the data connection is interrupted and restored. An old value that remains visible must not be mistaken for a current measurement; document the agreed operator response.
Q2. Is an 8-inch option automatically suitable outdoors?
No. Size alone says nothing about sealing, sunlight readability or environmental limits. Provide exposure to rain, dust, condensation and direct sun. Obtain the required protection and operating specifications before using the display outside; this listing does not establish an outdoor rating.
