Edge Computing Gateways

Selecting Hints

Compare METRAVON TG462 and TG465 edge gateways for local display, processing and field integration. Define software, ports and acceptance before requesting a quote.

Define the Local Workload Before Choosing an Edge Gateway

Both METRAVON edge models can collect field data, but they answer different project questions. Choose TG462 when technicians need local viewing or operation and a specified set of instrument inputs. The touchscreen is an order option: list the screens, permissions and functions required rather than assuming an application is included. Review TG465 when a project needs its documented compute platform for local processing or an inference workload. Hardware resources do not guarantee that an existing model or container will run without testing.

What to send with an integration inquiry

Supply the field device and port list, polling rate, application package or source requirements, expected record volume, network endpoint and retention period. For TG465 inference work, add model format, input dimensions and required end-to-end response time. Ask which operating image, drivers, protocol roles and software functions are included in the offered configuration.

Acceptance should exercise acquisition and local processing together, then disconnect a sensor and the uplink in turn. Record what the local screen or application shows, what data is retained and how operation resumes. If no local application is required, a standard industrial gateway may be the closer starting point.
