METRAVON MV-LC0217 is an IP67 single-point load cell offered in nine ratings from 10 kg to 200 kg. It is a candidate for platform scales exposed to moisture, provided that the ordered material, cable entry and surrounding connections suit the installation. The ingress rating is not permission to apply any cleaning chemical or high-pressure wash cycle.

IP67 does not select the construction material

The product data lists aluminium alloy, alloy steel or stainless steel alternatives. Specify the required version rather than assuming that every unit is stainless steel because the scale operates in a wet area. Review the actual cleaner, exposure time and corrosion risk with the supplied configuration. Protect terminals and any cable joint independently of the sensor housing.

Protect against loads that zeroing cannot remove

The safe-overload entry is 120% FS and the destructive-load entry is 150% FS. Taring platform weight changes the indication, not the mechanical force. Include the load receptor and any preload in the capacity assessment, and consider placement impact separately. These overload figures are not a setting for a universal mechanical stop or an acceptable routine loading margin.

Mounting the MV-LC0217 single-point load cell

The nominal envelope is 150 mm long, 25.4 mm wide and 40 mm high. M6 attachment details are shown on the drawing. Check the fixed and loaded faces, available fastener engagement and clearance throughout the weighing movement. Finish the cable restraint without applying a force to the loaded end. A shared envelope with another model does not prove interchangeability.

Commission after the complete wet-area wiring is installed

The bridge has 385 +/-10 ohms input resistance and 350 +/-3 ohms output resistance. Use a suitable weighing indicator or conditioner, and record its excitation and calibration settings. Verify zero return and reference-load readings after assembly. The cable note covers 50-500 kg but the capacity list begins at 10 kg, so request confirmation of the lower-range cable before fixing the indicator location.

Wet-area weighing questions

Q1. Does the C3 entry establish that my scale is approved?

The classification in the sensor data is not evidence of approval for the assembled scale. If the purchase requires metrological documentation, request the applicable documents for the delivered model and capacity, and check the finished instrument requirements separately.

Q2. Can this sensor be specified for steam cleaning?

Not from an IP67 entry alone. Describe the actual wash temperature, jet exposure and cleaning chemicals before ordering. Where more demanding washdown data is needed, examine MV-LC0218 and its stated test conditions without assuming the two models share dimensions or approvals.
