METRAVON MV-LC0188 is a metric-thread S-type load cell for hanging scales and tensile-force measurement. It offers discrete kg and t ratings with either of two listed sensitivity specifications. Capacity, threaded connection and electrical version must be identified together: an unchanged body size does not always mean the old fittings or indicator settings can be reused.
Identify the 2 mV/V or 3 mV/V version on the quotation
The listed sensitivity entries are 2.0 +/-0.02 mV/V and 3.0 +/-0.003 mV/V. Keep those different tolerances with the corresponding version; do not copy a narrower tolerance from another product. At 10 V excitation, nominal rated-load outputs are about 20 mV and 30 mV respectively. Check the reader input range and obtain calibration information for the supplied sensor before transferring an old span setting.
Metric-thread S-type load cell dimensions change in seven groups
The 100-300 kg and 500-750 kg groups both list A/B/C = 50.8/76.2/19.1 mm, but their threads differ: M10 x 1.5 versus M12 x 1.75. The 1-1.5 t group retains M12 x 1.75 while thickness C increases to 25.4 mm. At 2-5 t the connection is M20 x 1.5; 7.5 t uses M24 x 2 and 10 t uses M30 x 2. Compare the complete selected drawing, including installed height and thread engagement, rather than checking nominal diameter only.
| Item | Value | Selection notes |
|---|---|---|
| kg ratings | 25, 50, 75, 100, 150, 200, 300, 500, 750 kg | Select an explicit option with matching threads. |
| t ratings | 1, 1.5, 2, 3, 5, 7.5, 10 t | The required body thickness changes with the drawing group. |
| 25-75 kg connection | M6 x 1.0 | Check small attachment strength and alignment. |
| Bridge input / output | 385 +/-10 / 351 +/-2 ohms | Verify the reader supports the offered sensor version. |
| Excitation | 4-12 V DC; maximum 15 V DC | Specify any separately required conditioned signal. |
| Safe / ultimate overload | 150 / 200% FS | These entries do not define cyclic-load or shock capability. |
| Working conditions | -30 to +70 deg C; IP67 | Assess exposure and protection of separate connections. |
Settle cable reach and material before ordering
The four-core cable note assigns 3 m through 1 t, 5 m for 2-7.5 t and 8 m at 10 t. It leaves the listed 1.5 t version without an explicit standard length. Confirm that detail if 1.5 t is selected. Alloy steel and stainless steel are listed options, not a capacity-specific material assignment. Put the required material and termination location in the enquiry so the delivered configuration is clear.

Test the installed linkage for friction and zero return
Threaded attachments should transmit axial tension without contacting the slots or pulling sideways on the body. After assembly, compare known forces across the needed measuring interval, then unload and repeat. Investigate binding attachments or a restrained cable before changing electronic filtering. For held tension, include the relevant observation period; the published 30-minute creep entry is +/-0.02% FS. A sensor classification alone does not establish the completed scale performance.
If a four-rating alloy-steel S-type option is more relevant, check MV-LC0189 with its own dimensions, thread pitches and error specification.
Output versions and metric fittings
Q1. Can a 500 kg sensor use the same rod ends as a 300 kg version?
The body dimensions listed for those groups are the same, but the thread changes from M10 x 1.5 to M12 x 1.75. Select matching attachments and check the full loaded assembly. Appearance and common height are not sufficient replacement criteria.
Q2. Are 2 mV/V and 3 mV/V interchangeable without recalibration?
They produce different nominal full-scale signals at the same excitation. The measuring channel needs the correct signal range and an installed calibration for the supplied sensor. A previous zero and span should not be accepted simply because the load rating is unchanged.
Q3. Which items affect the quotation scope?
State the discrete rating, sensitivity version, material and cable requirement. Identify any rod ends, weighing instrument, amplifier or calibration documentation needed in addition to the sensor. A complete scope helps compare offers without assuming that accessories shown near a product photograph are included.
