Product Details

METRAVON MV-LC0174 is a column compression load cell listed for silos, hoppers and truck scales, with 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 and 60 t choices. The 60 t version is taller than the 10-50 t group. A replacement therefore needs both a force-rating check and a review of the complete load-contact assembly, including its installed height and restraints.

Check the 60 t height before retaining the support

The dimensional table gives height A = 150 mm for 10-50 t and 210 mm for 60 t. Body diameter B = 76 mm and contact diameter C = 44 mm are unchanged in those rows. Matching diameters do not cancel the 60 mm height difference. Compare the selected sensor, contact pieces and surrounding steelwork together before deciding whether a support frame can be reused.

Column compression load cell selection starts with the contact reaction

Determine the largest reaction that reaches each measuring point under the relevant vessel states or truck positions. Include structure weight and connected equipment rather than dividing the total equally by the number of supports without checking load distribution. Review the seating surfaces and restraints for the intended axial compression. The sensor rating does not specify an uplift restraint, permitted sideways movement or the complete support assembly strength.

Confirm the bridge channel and supplied cable configuration

Rated output is 2.0 +/-0.002 mV/V. Bridge resistance is 700 +/-10 ohms at the excitation input and 702 +/-2 ohms at the signal output. Confirm the reader supply, input range and the complete connected bridge arrangement. The available cable note gives a 5 mm diameter but no standard length, so state the required route and ask for the delivered length and termination details on the quotation.

METRAVON MV-LC0174 column compression load cell, 10-60 t
10, 20, 30, 40, 50 and 60 t versions; overall height changes from 150 mm to 210 mm at 60 t.

Set the installed test and documentation requirements together

Check empty return, known loading points and repeated loading with the final contacts seated. A truck-scale project also needs an agreed procedure for the relevant load positions, while a vessel project needs checks for piping and restraint effects. Creep over 30 minutes is listed as +/-0.02% FS. Any required conformity documents must identify the offered model and configuration; a catalogue class entry or logo alone does not approve the completed weighing installation.

Height, accessories and documentation

Q1. Can a 60 t sensor fit where a 50 t version is installed?

Its listed height increases by 60 mm while the body and contact diameters remain the same. Check the complete contact stack and available adjustment before retaining the support. Increasing sensor capacity does not by itself increase the permissible load of the surrounding structure.

Q2. Are the mounting parts in the assembly photograph supplied as standard?

The photograph shows a sensor with several example components, not a confirmed bill of materials for every order. Identify the contact pieces, base or adapter parts and restraints required by the installation, then have the quotation state which are included.

Q3. Can a certification requirement be accepted from the brochure alone?

Request the actual applicable documents and check their model identity, rating coverage and configuration against the offered product. Keep sensor documentation separate from any approval or acceptance required for the complete scale. Do not infer that all METRAVON versions share a certificate merely because the product family has a class entry.
