Product Details

METRAVON MV-LC0149 is a single-ended shear beam load cell for platform scales, pallet scales and weighing-module assemblies. It has a solid beam body with two fixing holes and a separate load-connection point. Choose the capacity, metric or imperial mounting version, and rated output together; those details determine whether it fits an existing scale and matches the indicator.

Shear beam load cell capacities and mounting versions

The listed metric ratings are 100, 200, 250 and 500 kg, followed by 1, 1.5, 2, 2.5, 3, 5, 7.5 and 10 t. These are individual capacity options, not a continuously adjustable measurement range. Select a rating that accommodates the greatest load at one support, including the scale structure and uneven loading.

Metric ratingLengthHole centresLoad thread
100-500 kg; 1-2.5 t130 mm25.4 mmM12 x 1.75
3-5 t171.5 mm38.1 mmM20 x 1.5
7.5-10 t222.3 mm50.8 mmM24 x 2

Imperial-capacity versions use their own connection details. An apparently similar beam can have a UNF thread instead of a metric thread. Keep the original capacity units when requesting a replacement and compare the full drawing, including loading-point position, bolt-hole diameters and mounting height.

A 3 mV/V replacement produces a different signal from a 2 mV/V sensor at the same excitation and fraction of rated load. In a multi-cell scale, that difference can affect load sharing in the summed reading. Do not mix sensitivities without a system-level review of the junction box, trimming method and indicator input.

The four-wire connection identifies red as excitation positive, black as excitation negative, green as signal positive and white as signal negative; yellow is the shield connection. Verify the supplied cable identification and ground the shield according to the weighing-system design. A junction box provides a connection point but does not make unlike sensors electrically equivalent.

Checks for pallet and platform scales

Allow the beam's loading end to move without contacting the foundation, debris guards or adjacent steelwork. Check that feet remain seated when a pallet is placed off-centre. After assembly, compare readings with the reference load at the centre and at the required corner positions, then repeat after unloading. Investigate mechanical contact before attempting to correct it electrically.

Ordering and replacement questions

Q1. Is this a bellows load cell?

No. MV-LC0149 uses the single-ended shear beam structure shown above. For replacement work, identify the body and mounting drawing rather than relying on a previous description. A bellows-style beam is a different mechanical construction.

Q2. Can it be used in a scale subject to legal metrology requirements?

The required approval must cover the supplied sensor identity, capacity and configuration, as well as its use in the intended instrument. Request the applicable documents before specifying a regulated weighing application; a family-level accuracy designation alone does not establish approval of the finished scale.

Q3. What is needed to quote a replacement set?

Provide the existing nameplates, number of supports, selected capacity and units, output sensitivity, mounting drawing and cable length. State whether feet and a junction box are required, so the quotation separates the sensors from the installation accessories.

Request MV-LC0149 pricing for your scale with the required quantity and the replacement details above. For a new installation, include the platform dimensions and maximum off-centre loading condition.
