Product Details

METRAVON MV-LC0118 is a wire rope tension sensor using a twin-hole shear beam and a defined rope-contact assembly. It is intended for industrial load display, monitoring and integration into a separately specified control system. The 1-50 t family includes overlapping load groups with different rope ranges and envelopes. Compare the exact assembly, not a high-precision label or an overall family maximum.

Use the wire rope tension sensor error limits in the project assessment

Nonlinearity is +/-0.1-0.3% FS, with +/-0.1% FS hysteresis and repeatability. These are sensor characteristics under the applicable conditions, not a guaranteed installed hook-load accuracy. Establish the required tension interval, useful resolution and reference method with the proposed rope. Differences in diameter, contact setup and the rope path remain part of the measurement assessment even when the sensor error entries suit the project.

METRAVON MV-LC0118 wire rope tension sensor with twin-hole shear beam, 1-50 t
1-50 t side-force family with a twin-hole shear beam; rope diameter and assembly dimensions must match the selected version.

Do not choose between the overlapping groups by capacity alone

The 1, 2 and 3-5 t rows share a 160 by 76 by 118 mm L/W/H envelope, but list rope diameters of 6-14, 10-18 and 16-26 mm respectively. An 8-30 t group lists 10-36 mm rope and a 260 by 108 by 172 mm body reference. The 20-50 t group lists 30-46 mm rope and 272 by 124 by 210 mm. Because the load ranges overlap, identify the proposed rope and exact assembly before ordering; a single tonne rating cannot resolve the body choice.

Commission the contact assembly and reader as one channel

Rated sensitivity is 1.5 +/-0.05 mV/V, with 750 +/-30 ohms input resistance and 700 +/-5 ohms output resistance. The bridge requires 5-12 V DC excitation and lists a 3 m cable of 5 mm diameter. Obtain the installation and calibration procedure for the offered contact arrangement rather than prescribing an unsupported clamp force or number of screw turns. Check representative tension conditions after the final cable routing and controller configuration are complete.

Define what the monitor will do with the measured tension

State whether the project needs a local indication, recorded trend, process alarm or a protective action. Identify the external conditioner, controller and any required engineering-unit conversion on the quotation. Where a hoist display is intended to represent hook load, validate the relationship to rope tension for its reeving arrangement. IP66 and -20 to +70 deg C do not establish a hazardous-area certificate, a lifting safety approval or the response of the complete alarm chain.

MV-LC0117 offers other side-force rope-contact layouts; compare the actual rope range, mechanical arrangement and bridge circuit instead of treating the two families as direct replacements.

For MV-LC0118, provide rope diameter and construction, required tension range, available assembly envelope, monitoring function and reference-test requirements.

Overlapping ranges and installed measurement error

Q1. Can a 20 t enquiry be resolved without knowing the rope size?

No. The 8-30 t and 20-50 t groups overlap but have different rope ranges and physical envelopes. Submit the actual rope diameter, construction and available space so the offered assembly can be identified. Then confirm its permitted operating combination.

Q2. Does the lower nonlinearity figure guarantee the complete hoist accuracy?

It does not include every rope, mounting, reeving or controller effect. Agree the quantity being displayed and validate the full channel with suitable references. Use the confirmed offered error value, not only the smallest number in the family entry.
