A waterproof load cell body does not make an entire weighing circuit waterproof. Water can reach cable ends, junction boxes or damaged jackets outside the sensor enclosure. When a scale drifts after rain or washdown, inspect the full cable route before replacing an otherwise serviceable cell.
Waterproof Load Cell Ratings Need Installation Conditions

That designation should not be extended to prolonged immersion, hot high-pressure cleaning or unspecified chemicals without supporting information for the supplied assembly. Obtain the permitted exposure and cleaning method, including the cable entry and any connector.

Investigate the Wet-State Fault Before Drying Erases It
Preserve readings, timestamps and weather or cleaning conditions. Have qualified personnel isolate the circuit before inspection. Record which enclosure or cable section contains moisture and whether the problem affects one cell or the complete system. Do not open a housing in a way that invalidates its sealing arrangement.
A temporary improvement after drying is diagnostic evidence, not proof of a lasting repair. After addressing the entry path, repeat the approved functional and load checks under permitted exposure conditions. Use only the specified electrical test methods; arbitrary insulation-test voltages can damage connected electronics.
